Alicia Keys - 'Doesn't Mean Anything' (Snippet)As Alicia Keys readies her fourth studio album for release later this year, a very brief snippet of the LP's lead single 'Doesn't Mean Anything' surfaced. While it's a little difficult to give a definitive view of this one, I must say I'm liking the sound of it. Similar to 'No One' in that it sounds chartable, yet unique in that it has a qualitative edge to it, this is sounding like a winner. Of course, it could end up being trash once the full version premieres on September 29th, but all signs are positives at present.

Tidbit: Did you know Jay-Z's 'Empire State of Mind', which features Alicia, is currently #1 on iTunes?

edge? how can you tell that from a 22 sec snippet where the music sounds just like everything she's done before? Don't get me wrong, she's great. But you sam you're so biased.

you cant tell anything from 22 seconds.. you need at least 1 minute of a song...

I'm not really feeling it, i need more than 22 seconds. Truthfully, I wasnt all that crazy about No One & look what a chart topper it was & Alicia's album was good, so no matter what. I'll still be buying.

I sorta agree but also disagree with the people above me. You can't judge a song without hearing a part of the verse + chorus ... but if you dont like it, you won't like it or it'll grow on you. If you DO like it, you're probably going to like the whole song.

And i agree with sam, i like what i'm hearing, i don't think any of alicia's songs has ever not appealed to me.

Sam I hate the fact that you always have to be so negative. I have noticed over the last couple months your getting worse. I mean by all means this is indeed your website but I think your views shouldn't overshadow what someone else might think. You can be a bit more constructive rather then say the song might be trash. Could you not think of a better word? My gosh. And lastly this is Alicia Keys! She is actually a real talent, a rare jewel that writes her own music. It ain't always about bouncy and Whitney Sam. Allow others to shine sometimes without the negativity.
